CYPHER Learning maintains a dynamic and adaptive product roadmap focused on continuous innovation. While we plan core feature development in one-year cycles to remain agile, our long-term vision is guided by key focus areas driven by emerging technology, industry trends, and customer needs. Throughout our roadmap, we are prioritizing expanded AI integration in the areas of content creation, skills development, and self-assessment. By actively engaging with our customers through feedback channels and monitoring emerging trends, we ensure that our roadmap remains aligned with real-world use cases and future learning demands.
Yes. The platform includes a course recommendation engine within the skill development tool. It can recommend courses based on identified skill gaps, helping learners to improve and advance in specific areas. CYPHER Agent can also recommend specific formal courses in the catalog for a learner to review a topic area or generate content on demand for that learner to strengthen skills that do not have specific content already created.
In Q4 of 2025, we will also launch our CYPHER Agent assess and coach tools, which will allow a learner to self-assess on skills to get content and custom learning path recommendations to meet their goals and the ability to analyze both learner history and job history to recommend goals and content.
Yes. CYPHER Agent includes both a course creation tool and the learner tool to address both formal course creation and informal learning. The course creation tool can create courses, quizzes, study materials, and other learning resources based on existing knowledge and proprietary content. The learner tool creates on demand content for a learner that leverages both the AI platform's knowledge (either public knowledge or proprietary files made available through the Agent knowledge base) and its understanding of the learner (including course history, learner behaviors, and learner preferences) to generate personalized training materials.
Yes. The platform supports Generative AI Chat-to-training through the new CYPHER Agent for learners tool, which enables learners to interact with AI and receive personalized training content based on their queries. CYPHER Agent can incorporate data from existing learning content, as well as outside resources provided to the platform such as outside file shares of content and in the case of existing learning content, CYPHER Agent will recommend specific courses and assist with enrollment. Learner interactions with generated content are tracked and can be used in tandem with skills development to improve mastery.
CYPHER Agent for learners is an AI-powered learning agent designed to augment the learner experience as they develop new skills, close knowledge gaps, and move through more traditional learning courses and paths. Using a chat-based interface, learners ask about the topic of interest and, if the question falls within the guardrails set by the administrators, CYPHER Agent generates and verifies an answer, creating a concept map. Learners can generate learning based on proprietary material from Agent knowledge base, such as sales playbooks, policy documents, or product guides, or they can generate topics outside of company resources, such as “How to have a challenging conversation” or “How can I use Power BI?” The agent knows the learner, their role, and their company and that information informs the depth and breadth of the response.
CYPHER Agent for learners is not intended to replace traditional learning. It is intended to augment it by providing additional context and by supporting alternate learning needs, such as language or learning style, creating accessible, interactive learning on company material, as well as providing immediate answers on topics not covered in the current catalog . Structured courses are still a good way to ensure that a standard set of content is delivered, provide hands-on exercises, personal feedback from subject matter experts, and standardize evaluations. CYPHER Agent for learners is great for giving learners access to what they need to know in the moment.
We currently offer CYPHER Agent for learners, course creators, and administrators. The learner Agent delivers personalized, just-in-time learning in the moment. The creator and admin Agent, originally launched in 2023 (as CYPHER Copilot), automates course creation, skills mapping, assessments, gamification, and more.
Our vision is to build a CYPHER Agent for every key stakeholder, including managers, instructors, partners, and customers, to make learning and development faster, smarter, and more intuitive for everyone.
No. Once you enable CYPHER Agent for learners, learners can begin to interact with it. CYPHER Agent will leverage the learner profile to tailor its answers and will always generate answers aimed at developing skills and knowledge. Administrators can add content guardrails to CYPHER Agent if desired and add internal resources to the Agent knowledge base.
When you add a resource to CYPHER you can make it available to the Agent knowledge base by selecting that option on the resource. Only resources flagged for reference by CYPHER Agent will be used. You can update this setting as needed.
Learners can use CYPHER Agent whenever they have a question that cannot be addressed by the current learning material, either because the course material doesn’t exist, the learner needs it in another form or in more depth, or the learner just needs an on-demand answer. Possible scenarios include:
- A new hire needs to be refreshed on a process and can’t recall where to find the information. CYPHER Agent finds and offers the answer along with related helpful information.
- A sales rep is on a call with a client who is asking questions about a new product they can answer–Agent leverages the product and sales documents to provide quick, referenceable answers.
- An employee has been tasked with a project requiring a skill they don’t have, and there’s no existing course. Agent generates in-the-moment learning to get them started.
When you ask CYPHER Agent a question, it:
- References available proprietary resources and, if needed, public knowledge to generate a response
- Crosschecks every part of the answer before displaying it
- Creates a custom image
- Provides an introduction to the answer
- Generates a concept map of the topics grouped by relationship so you can explore or zero in on exactly what you need
- Creates a table of contents so you can explore topics in a linear fashion
CYPHER Agent builds the concept map automatically based on the question asked and what it knows about the learner. The results are generated immediately following crosscheck upon the learner inputting the question. The answers are broken into four subtopics, with a further five sections per subtopic. This enables learners to either explore the topic methodically or zero in on exactly what they need to know.
Once you’ve enabled CYPHER Agent for learners, learners can click on the AI icon in the lower right corner and select Learn.

- on how to access and use CYPHER Agent for learners.
CYPHER Agent supports 50+ languages and will default to the learner’s preferred language.
CYPHER Agent will suggest a number of questions based on the individual and based on their profile.
We preload that profile area with things like which courses you're enrolled with, what your job title is, who you work for. Then as it interacts with you, it gradually updates its knowledge of you into its memory. When you access Agent, it shows suggestions that are based on what it knows about you.
The Agent will also only pull from resources that are available to the learner, respecting the resource security that’s been set up.
The Agent starts by knowing the learner’s organization, their role at the organization, and their learning history in the LMS. As time goes on and based on what information the learner feeds Agent, it will learn even more and apply that to future responses. From simple things like “I like examples that reference sports” to more meaningful questions like, “English isn’t my first language but I’d like to keep learning in English,” which can lead to answers that are more thoughtful.
CYPHER Agent for learners can read and return content so that learners can get answers to your specific company questions. Administrators choose which resources to make available to the Agent knowledge base, and then CYPHER Agent can access the information to generate a response. Examples of resources you might want to share are process manuals, product guides, sales playbooks, compliance documentation and more. Learners can then ask their question without even having to know where the answer resides–CYPHER Agent will find it and generate the interactive learning with the information.
The material stays secure within CYPHER and is never added to the AI model itself.
The content that is generated is interactive, allowing the learner to ask the agent for more information. The Agent is persistent, that is it knows who you are and it’s aware of where you are in the response when you ask for more information. Even if you return to the response later, it will remember where you are.
The generated answers can be accessed by the learner again at any time. The Agent is persistent, that is it knows who you are and it’s aware of where you are in the response.
Currently, CYPHER Agent for learners supports two different modes: one is content generation and interaction (asking questions of the agent about the content. Coming soon, we’ll offer a Tutor Me mode, where it helps you figure out what you know and don’t know and helps close the gap on what you don’t know.
CYPHER Agent has been deliberately and thoughtfully woven throughout CYPHER to integrate and support different workflows. It is already connected to your learners’ profiles and their learning history and has the following distinctions:
- Produces a concept map designed to facilitate exploration and deep dives, not just a wall of text.
- Answers are cross-checked by an independent AI to verify, ensure accuracy, and highlight any discrepancy.
- Securely creates learning from your proprietary material, while keeping them secure within CYPHER.
- Leverages several AI services to execute the individual tasks that they’re best suited to, generating superior results.
- Allows for administrative guardrails to be put in place to ensure that the agent is used appropriately.
- Allows administrators to monitor queries to get insight into what learners want to know so that you can build on that interest and offer more in-depth, hands-on courses.
CYPHER Agent for learners is not intended to replace your course catalog, but rather to augment it. CYPHER Agent for learners can be used to:
- Surface knowledge buried in internal documents: Important information becomes easily accessible, digestable, and actionable instead of being buried in dense documents that learners may not even know how to access. For example, a new bank employee doesn’t have to find the exact point in the compliance document to know what to do with a special account set up – they can just ask.
- Get immediate information on a topic that is not currently in your catalog: Most organizations can’t stock their catalog with all of the courses covering topics that learners need, either due to budget constraints, agility (the company has suddenly pivoted exposing a new need), or because the need is too niche to justify the investment. CYPHER Agent fills those gaps.
- Augment the learning experience: Learners may have questions about their formal learning because they have a knowledge gap, a language barrier, or they need an alternate explanation to help them understand.
- Develop and apply skills: Learners may want more information about how to close skills gaps and apply their learning in a work context.
AI can make mistakes. It sometimes hallucinates data that isn’t there and sometimes generates faulty results. We don’t rely on a single AI model and just assume that it will always generate good results. Once the first AI has generated the content, we feed the content into a premium AI from a different vendor. If the second AI agrees with the first AI, the content is verified and the user can see the verified icon in the corner.
But if there are any issues, it'll say potential inaccuracy detected and allow you to regenerate the content. This unique feature greatly reduces the chances that a learner will learn or act upon faulty results, unlike use of general-purpose AI models. More than half of people are using AI at work to get information – it is important that the information be correct.
Adaptive courses are made up of material that is the same for all learners. It adapts to an individual learner by showing or hiding a module based on that learner’s ability or previous knowledge. For example, a course about cake baking may include modules about how to grease a pan and the importance of sifting the dry ingredients before getting to the module about mixing the batter. The course will show all the modules for a novice baker while hiding the modules on pan greasing and sifting for experienced bakers, but both will see the same module on mixing the batter.
A learner Agent creates content that is just for the learner. The advanced baker may get a course with a more complex recipe and get information about decorating, while the novice baker will get something a little more simple.
Behind the scenes, CYPHER Agent uses multiple premium AI systems, selecting the best one for each specific task. Every response is the result of many coordinated tasks. Relying on a single AI means you’re limited to its strengths—and weaknesses. With CYPHER Agent, we use a team of AIs, each contributing their specialty to produce a better overall result. This enables us to be flexible, swapping out AI systems as new and better ones become available.
Think of it like assembling a world-class team: instead of picking all players from the same background, you bring together the best strategist, the fastest runner, the strongest defender—each one playing their part to win together.
Access to CYPHER Agent is included in your license, but AI processing credits are an additional cost. We are offering all accounts that enable CYPHER Agent for learners 10,000 complimentary credits so that you can try out the agent and see for yourself just how valuable it is. You can buy credit bundles from your Customer Service Manager.
We use a credit-based system so that customers are charged based on actual usage. The average query consumes about a dozen credits, or the equivalent of about $0.05-0.15 USD. Given how valuable time, personalization and accuracy is this is very reasonable.
AI processing is resource-intensive so to ensure that our customers are paying only for what they use, we have adopted a credit-based system, which is the industry norm. When an AI request is made to the Agent, the credits used are calculated and deducted from the credit pool that the customer has purchased. Credits are available in a variety of bundle sizes to suit your needs and the per-credit price drops with an increase in the bundle size.
The value of the credits is realized in the time saved in course creation, catalog costs, increased productivity of users, and the risk-reduction of using a verified AI information source.
Learner use of CYPHER Agent draws from the same credit pool used by administrators. Administrators can set a per-learner quota, putting a cap on how many credits a learner can use. Right now learners are allocated 10,000 credits by default. You can adjust that for all learners or allocate more or fewer by named user.
CYPHER Agent for learners and for course creators will inform its content using documents and files that administrators have added to the Agent knowledge base. Content created for learners will include an information icon (an ‘i’) that links to the file so that the learner can click to access the original content.
CYPHER Agent doesn't only rely on textual content. It can use documents, PowerPoint decks, videos, and PDFs to generate responses.
As we support ingesting course content in the near future, the plan is to enable you to redirect learners back to the course for the knowledge, which would allow you to control this.
We've got tons of abilities coming in various states of prototypes, all fully integrated into learning workflows and serving different personas, such as managers, instructors, and more.
Our general strategy is to provide a very rich set of tightly integrated Agent capabilities that allow learners to develop skills, develop their career, assess themselves, learn in the moment, and learn courses. Coming soon, the Agent will recommend courses in the catalog that align to the question and reference content that’s hosted on the site.
Learners are able to develop skills that align to their role or desired roles. If a learner wants to develop one of those skills without taking an entire course, they can select one of their skills and choose the option “Learn using AI,” which will launch the learner Agent and track that activity as part of your skill development progress.
One of the ways that the learner Agent can integrate with courses is with course skills. If you have mapped skills to your course content, learners can access the learner Agent to learn more about a particular skill from within a course. For example, if a learner is taking a course on Statistics for Business and is acquiring most of the skills with ease but is stuck on Linear Regression, they can click on the Linear Regression skill and access the Agent to get more learning on that topic. The learner Agent is augmenting the learning in the course, helping the learner master the material from within the course itself.
We have other functionality planned for future releases, stay tuned for updates.
Our customers own the content that is generated by the Agent, whether it’s the learner Agent or the course creator Agent.
We use premium models that are legally bound to not share your data – the queries, reference documents, and so on – so everything is completely private, with no copyright issues, and proprietary to you. In addition, CYPHER is also not training the Agent on your behavior or data.
No proprietary data uploaded to CYPHER Agent is used to train or improve AI models outside of your platform.
